[2010.03.01 - Ottawa, ON] Eddie Edward Making Strides At FC Dallas Former Fury PDL-er in battle for final spot on defense for 2010 squad Earlier in February it was announced that former Fury SYL and PDL player Edson (Eddie) Edward had been drafted to FC Dallas of the MLS. This week saw Edward make strides towards appearing for the squad in the 2010 MLS season - battling it out in pre-season training camp for a spot on this summer's team.
Edward has only been with FCD for a few weeks but has enjoyed his time to date.
[2010.03.01 - Ottawa, ON] Sabadoz Caps Stellar 2009 Season With Another Award Fury Youth grad named Northeast-10 Men's Soccer Scholar-Athlete The 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year, sophomore forward Robbie Sabadoz of the Merrimack men's soccer team was named the 2009 Northeast-10 Conference Scholar-Athlete Excellence Award winner for men's soccer on Tuesday.
Sabadoz, a business major with a 3.85 GPA, has put together quite the resume in only his second year of collegiate action. The sophomore earned Northeast-10 Player of the Year accolades this past fall after leading Merrimack to the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Championship.
[2010.02.02 - Ottawa, ON] The Next Step Fury Men Look to Improve on Best-Ever Season The USL unveiled the 2010 PDL schedule today that will see the Ottawa Fury Men play a 16-game schedule in the Northeast Division where they will look to repeat as Division champions after posting an undefeated season (12-0-4) in 2009 en route to their first-ever post-season birth.
The Fury will open the season under new head coach Carl Valentine at the friendly confines of Algonquin College on Sunday, May 30th when they entertain the Western Mass Pioneers who join the PDL after spending the last 11 years in USL Division 2. The Fury have not lost a regular season game at home since June 24, 2007 – a three year stretch that has seen them compile are record of 14-0-4.
[2010.02.01 - Ottawa, ON] Albany BWP Highlanders Return To PDL In 2010 Franchise returns to league in Fury's division The Albany BWP Highlanders announced their return to the Premier Development League of United Soccer Leagues, solidifying an already strong Northeast Division.
Albany, which are incorporating their youth organization, Blackwatch Premier (BWP), in their name, will debut with a home game at Union College's Frank Bailey Field in mid May.
[2010.02.01 - Ottawa, ON] A Dream Come True Eddie Edward drafted to MLS' FC Dallas The Ottawa Fury Soccer Club are proud to announce that former Fury SYL and PDL player Edson (Eddie) Edward has been drafted to Major League Soccer's FC Dallas. The announcement of Edward's signing was officially released January 26, with the defender set to feature in this upcoming year's MLS campaign.

| The top U23 men's pro-am league in North America lives in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the development ground for elite players. The 2008 campaign featured a 61-team format within four conferences, consisting of 16 regular season matches, 8 home and 8 away. The schedule is augmented by participation in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, and various exhibitions. Players have the ability to compete in the PDL throughout the summer months in a professionalized setting while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The league is the proving ground for players that aspire to reach the highest-levels of the game, while providing affordable family entertainment within their city.
The Fury formed a PDL team in 2005 missing the playoffs in each of their first four seasons. In 2008 the finished with a 9-4-3 record missing the playoffs on a tie-breaker. In their 5th Anniversary season in 2009 they become the 8th team in PDL history to post an undefeated season going 12-0-4 capturing the Northeast Division Title. The Fury fell 2-1 in extra time in the divisional round of the playoffs to the Ocean City Barons.
