A native of Bielefeld Germany Klaus played youth and senior soccer for VFB03 Bielefeld. ( German 3. Div. ) Arriving in Ottawa in 1971, Klaus was a member of the Ottawa Cenntenials Soccer Club participating in the OCSL for two years. During this time he was also a member of the Ontario Men's team.
From 1972 - 76 Klaus was a member of the Ottawa St. Anthony team participating in the Quebec Nat. League, and in 1976 - 1987 he was a member of the Maple Leaf ( 1979 Ont. Champ. 1980 second in Canadian Champ. )
Klaus has a strong coaching background and has coached for the Almonte Soccer Club, Maple Leaf Almrausch and in 1995 the Ottawa Royals. In 2002 - 2003 Klaus wa the coach of the Ottawa Wizards a member of the CPSL. He has previously held head coach positions with the Ottawa Fury in 2004 with the Ottawa Fury U15 Boys and in 2005 with the Ottawa Fury U18 Boys.
Klaus will be coaching the Ottawa Fury U17 Boys for the 2007 Indoor and 2008 Outdoor seasons.
